Principal dancer Steven McRae will dance Romeo at the opening night of Romeo and Juliet on 19 September 2015 and at the live cinema relay and BP Big Screens performance on 22 September. He and Sarah Lamb appear as the star-crossed lovers for the first time together on the Royal Opera House stage following their highly acclaimed performance in the roles on the Company’s tour to Taiwan in 2014.
The role of the Prince in The Nutcracker will be danced on 9 December by Principal Vadim Muntagirov. First Soloist Valeri Hristov will dance the role at the matinee performances on 17 December and 22 December.
First Soloist Ryoichi Hirano makes his debut as Count Albrecht in Giselle at the evening performance on 28 March 2016.
All changes are due to the departure of Rupert Pennefather from The Royal Ballet earlier this month.
